In July 2026, the Boris Eifman Ballet Theatre will perform the contemporary psychological ballet "Rodin, Her Eternal Idol" at the Alexandrinsky Theatre. This production has a special place in the company's oeuvre, marking a new stage in the development of contemporary dance. Its central theme is a unique choreographic language and profound psychological insight. Due to the immense popularity of the production, it is recommended to purchase online tickets for the ballet "Rodin, Her Eternal Idol" in advance.

Choreographer Boris Eifman has created a large-scale creative message dedicated to the fate of famous artists – the great sculptor Auguste Rodin and his beloved student, muse, and life partner, Camille Claudel.

This love story is imbued with a spirit of tragedy. For fifteen years, Rodin and Claudel lived side by side, creating masterpieces together. However, the subsequent breakup proved fatal for the abandoned and forgotten muse, Camille Claudel. Weakened by a mental disorder, her mind is constantly tormented by suspicions: Camille sees Rodin as the leader of imaginary conspiracies that deprive her of recognition and freedom. Abandoned by everyone and forgotten by society, she lived in extreme poverty and lost her mind. Accusing her lover of betrayal, she suffered from paranoia and spent thirty years in the isolation of a psychiatric hospital, where she died in 1943, deprived of all care and support.

The ballet "Rodin, Her Eternal Idol" is a philosophical immersion into the world of human passions, creative genius, and spiritual collapse. Using a unique choreographic language, Eifman seeks to reveal the mystery of the human soul, embodied in the vibrant images of Rodin and Claudel. The production goes far beyond the traditional understanding of their work, turning to a profound understanding of the nature of inspiration, obsession and sacrifice of the artist.
