The Pygmalion Effect ballet by the Boris Eifman Ballet Theatre invites viewers into a world where art and reality intertwine in a tragicomedy interpretation of a classical myth. The premiere will take place at the historic Alexandrinsky Theatre, located in the heart of St. Petersburg. This theatre, famous for its magnificent architecture and rich history, is an ideal venue for the production.
Boris Eifman, a master of choreographic art, offers a new interpretation of the story of a sculptor who fell in love with his creation. In his version, the central character is a dancer who strives to transform a simple girl from the lower classes into a brilliant artist. This internal and external transformation of the heroine is accompanied by the music of Johann Strauss Jr. For the first time, Eifman turns to the works of this composer, which adds a special charm and dynamics to the performance.
The production of "The Pygmalion Effect" will be not only a visual but also an intellectual pleasure, revealing the theme of the plasticity of human nature. For those who want to become part of this event, we recommend buying tickets on our website.
