This is not just a performance - it is a deep immersion into the psychological world of the heroine, torn between duty, maternal love and all-consuming passion.

Purchase ticket to the ballet "Anna Karenina"the audience will be able to relive the famous novel by Leo Tolstoy. Choreographer Boris Eifman presented a completely new interpretation of well-known storylines, images of the main characters and their motives. This unique project is emotionally rich, visually attractive and impressive at the same time, full of psychological energy and drama.

The plot of the ballet is based solely on the central characters of the novel: Anna Karenina, Alexei Vronsky and Anna’s wife, Alexei Karenin. The author focused specifically on the classic love triangle, leading to betrayal, internal crisis and tragedy. The secondary lines are removed in order to more clearly reveal the psychological vicissitudes of the main character, a reborn woman, ready to make any sacrifice for the sake of feeling.

According to Eifman, the main reason for the heroine’s actions was an all-consuming passion that could make a woman forget about everything, including her own children. This feeling, full of internal struggle, remains relevant today, despite the passing centuries. Social norms that once suppressed the individual collide with the basic instinct - the desire for freedom and love.

Ballet amazes not only with the depth of emotions, but also with the highest level of performing technique. The magnificent work of lighting designer Grigory Filshtinsky, the original scenery of Zakhar Margolin, the exquisite costumes of Vladimir Okunev, the musical accompaniment of Pyotr Tchaikovsky and the unique choreography of Boris Eifman create a truly magical spectacle. The plasticity of the body, brought to perfection by the artists of B. Eifman's troupe, conveys the internal psychological drama with amazing accuracy. Among the performers are leading soloists of the theatre, including laureate of international competitions Maria Abashova, whose interpretation of Anna has become a standard.
