Spectators will once again be able to enjoy the ballet Anna Karenina within the walls of the Alexandrinsky Theatre
Eifman has toured Asia and Europe many times, where his productions based on classic works by authors such as Chekhov, Maupassant, Zola and Dostoevsky enjoyed great success. His goal is not to accurately reproduce literary plots, but to reveal the deep psychological conflicts of the characters through dance.
This ballet focuses on the inner experiences of the characters. They live, suffer, are jealous, make difficult choices and bear responsibility for them. Their psychological dramas unfold on stage thanks to choreography, lighting solutions and an expressive language of movement, while the use of costumes and scenery is kept to a minimum. Every detail of the props and every movement of the artists reveal new, previously unobvious meanings of Tolstoy's classic work. The heroes' path is full of mistakes and suffering, each of them goes through changes and, one might say, grows up. The changes are especially hard for Anna, who ultimately makes a fatal decision.
Visiting the ballet "Anna Karenina" performed by the Boris Eifman Theatre at the Alexandrinsky Theatre will be a source of vivid emotions for you and will allow you to look at a familiar story from a new, unusual angle.
